How to Celebrate Valentine's Day at Home

How to Celebrate Valentine’s Day at Home?

Celebrating Valentine’s Day in a nice restaurant is the go-to move, but sometimes, you want to do something a bit more intimate and private. If you’re feeling that this year, then celebrating this special day at home is what you want to do. The following are a few ideas to make this day special when it’s just the two of you.

The Dinner

You can make dinner for Valentine’s Day, and you need to work hard to get this right. Be honest with yourself if you’re going to be cooking a meal for your beloved. If you don’t cook often or your meals aren’t always great, then spend time perfecting this. Sometimes, you can find time during the day to cook the meal, or maybe you can cook the meal somewhere else. This could be done at a friend’s house or a family member’s house so that your partner doesn’t find out. Now, if you can’t trust your cooking skills, then just order in and set the meal up yourself.

The Gift Basket

Even if you’re going to be taking care of the dinner, including a gift basket in your plans makes the at-home dinner that much more special, and gives the two of you something to explore together. Valentine’s Day is a full day, not just to be celebrated over dinner. A Valentine’s Day wine gift basket can be used to supplement the meals with pre-dinner drinks and snacks, and a post-dinner dessert that you two can enjoy beside a romantic fireplace. The gift basket itself is a romantic night for two kits, where even the presentation and unboxing feel exciting and special.

The Ballroom

The next thing you might want to do is turn an area of your home into a ballroom or dance floor. If you’ve got enough space in your living room, then you know this is the best place to do this. You want to make this as special as you can, so learn a new dance. Learning a new dance like the tango or another type of ballroom dance takes time, so you’ll probably want to do this before Valentine’s Day. It doesn’t matter if your partner doesn’t know this dance; you can spend some time teaching your partner. Your partner will appreciate how much you put into this day.

The Spa

A spa is a great activity for your Valentine’s Day at home. It’s as romantic as any other activity could be, and it gives you an opportunity to make your partner feel special.  Set the mood with a wrapped box with a luxurious robe or matching women’s loungewear set so the mood is relaxed from the start of the experience. The way you set up the spa is up to you. Some do this by turning off the lights, lighting some candles, and filling up the tub with warm water and maybe a few petals or a bath bomb. After that, you can give your partner a massage as you let them relax. The massage could be returned, but that’s up to you. Other folks rent the massage table and give their partner a massage using soothing music and maybe aromatherapy. You can do anything you want or combine some of these ideas.

The Song

If you can play an instrument and sing, then this one is going to be easy. If you don’t know how to play an instrument, then start learning something so that you can play one song. You can either find a song you know your partner loves and learn to play that song to make this a great gift. You could also choose a song that’s special to both of you. Some folks even write their own original song. There are songwriters that you can hire to help you write a song if you don’t feel like you can do it without some help. You don’t have to be perfect, but the gesture will feel great.

Artwork Together

One last thing you two can try for Valentine’s Day is a little art piece. The kind of art you two create is up to you, but there are many options out there. For example, you could work together to paint one big canvas. Let your imaginations flow, and let love create something special. It’s going to be fun to work together on this. You could also just try a photoshoot indoors; make sure you go all out for the photo shoot, too. Have a number of outfits and put on makeup. Do everything you can think of.

You’ve got a number of ways to make your Valentine’s Day at home special. Ultimately, you have to follow your heart because it won’t lead you wrong, but hopefully, these ideas help put you on the right path.
